What is with the Shoemaker's Shoes?!

We may or may not have endured some recent mockery for the, achem, lack of deck at our place. This has, in fact, been a running family joke for quite some time. Several years ago, we actually managed to design and build a fancy little deck for ourselves . . . just before selling the house.

Alas, it seems we have joined the highly esteemed ranks of all those shoemakers out there, walking around with holes in their shoes.

Today, the little people (also known as "our daughters") built their own deck in the back yard. I'm not sure what's going on there, but I think there was some old plywood and lawn chairs involved.

May the mockery continue . . .

It is so true.

I know many mechanics who's vehicles are poor repair. Why, well, you just don't want to think about doing what you do for a living on your weekends.

Graphic designers and photographers are about the only ones I know who live and breath their occupation and passion everyday, all day. As one who was once an aircraft mechanic, and is now a visual designer & photographer, I can honestly say that I rarely wanted to fix things on my days off. Now I am always consumed by design and photography. Its really weird.

Anyway. Just wanted to say that I totally understand your situation, and do not think its strange or funny.
